Payroll Entry
We are looking for an accounting technician to support our administration department.
Job Description: Payroll & Accounting Technician
Your Responsibilities:
Payroll Component – 50%
Full-Cycle Weekly Payroll: Manage data entry, validation, payment issuance, file updates, and tracking of banks (vacations, leaves, hours worked).
Year-End & Compliance: Produce annual tax slips (T4, Relevé 1) and Records of Employment (ROE); respond to employee inquiries.
Regulatory Standards: Ensure full compliance with payroll standards and obligations (CNESST, CRA, Revenu Québec, QPP, QPIP).
Reporting: Validate complex reports, including earnings registers, deductions, and withholdings.
Accounting Component – 50%
Bookkeeping: Manage bookkeeping for various accounting cycles.
Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
Tax Filing: Prepare and file sales tax reports (GST/QST).
What We Are Looking For:
Education: DEP or DEC in Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in payroll processing.
Skills: Exceptional rigor and high attention to detail.
Ethics: High sense of confidentiality and professionalism.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of labor laws and tax obligations.
Organization: Ability to manage priorities and meet strict deadlines.
Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
